The cold June just got colder, with confirmation that the state has had its equal-coldest June night on record.
Bureau of meteorology figures show the mercury plummeted to -6 degrees at Norseman Aerodrome in the early hours of Sunday, the same reading recorded at Collie in 2006.

Perth has just had its coldest May since 1995, and the wettest May in five years, according to weatherzone.com.au.
The minimum temperature for Perth in the last month averaged just nine degrees, two below the long-term average for May. This was the lowest average minimum in a decade.

Wednesday morning was a record cold one for parts of southern WA and SA.
Southerly winds over the last few days eased and skies cleared allowing for crisp clear nights and a recipe for a chill.
Elliston on the West Coast of SA dipped to 4.8 degrees, 10 below average and the lowest December minimum in 47 years of records.
A little further inland, Wuddinna was as cold as 4.6 at about sunrise, making it the coldest December night in 10 years of records.
Just across the WA border, in the Eucla, it was a similar story. Both Eyre and Eucla broke December records spanning more than 50 years.

Residents of Perth have just shivered through their coldest September days in at least 15 years, according to weatherzone.com.au.
The city had an average maximum of 19 degrees, slightly below the long term normal of 20. This made it the coldest September in terms of daytime temperatures since records began at the current site in 1994. In fact, on the 29th, the mercury struggled to just 14 degrees, the coldest September day in 10 years.

Despite eastern parts of the country experiencing unusual heat for this time of year, Perth was unusually cool, shivering through its coldest July in five years, according to weatherzone.com.au.
Maximum temperatures across Perth have been below normal this month, averaging just 18 degrees, the coldest in 11 years. Minimums were also below average. The monthly average was just 7 degrees, the lowest in three years.

The recent wild weather over Western Australia has brought some record breaking temperatures, with the effects being felt right across the state.

Albany Airport, after recording 23 degrees yesterday only managed 11 degrees today, making it the coldest May day since 1976. Pemberton reached 10 degrees today, half of yesterday’s maximum and the coldest May day since 1957. The cold has shocked WA to its bones as places as far afield as the Gascoyne felt the chill.
