Elmira N.Y.- Parts of the Twin Tiers may see the mercury fall to record low levels into early Sunday morning

The record low for Sunday at the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport stands at 25 degrees, set back in 1967. The Storm Team is currently forecasting a low of 24, which would be good enough to set a new record low!

It wasn’t just cold today. It was record-breaking cold.
According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, the coldest it got today at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport was -19 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous record was -13 degrees in 1965.
