Melbourne has coldest April day in 14 years
April 26, 2009
Victorians had a taste of winter on Sunday, struggling in mighty winds and temperatures near 10 degrees, the coldest day since last winter for many.
In Melbourne the temperature was about 12 degrees for most of the day and as cold as 10 during the heaviest showers. Melbourne’s maximum was just 13.6, six below the April average and the coldest April day in 14 years. Nearby Scoresby, only reached 12 degrees, eight below average. Mt Dandenong didn’t get any warmer than seven degrees.
