Metro Detroit slogs through near-record April snow

…Monday’s official snowfall of 6.7 inches was the region’s second-heaviest in April history, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake Township. The area’s deepest April snow was 24.1 inches in 1886 — also set on April 6. It stands as the all-time record for a one-day snowfall in Detroit’s recorded weather history…
