YES, IT GOT THAT COLD. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ROMEOVILLE REGISTERED A RECORD LOW FRIDAY MORNING
Biting cold temperatures on Friday morning sank to minus 24 degrees, a record low for the local National Weather Service office.
The service’s Romeoville office has been observing temperatures since 1992. And Friday’s low beats the previous record of minus 23 set on Jan. 19, 1994.
